A club such as the BMW Motorcycle Club Pretoria exists for its members and because of its members.  Some of these members made a profound impact on the Club through their selfless service and exceptional contributions.

So we recognise and celebrate the exceptional difference that these members have made towards the success of the Club that we know today.

Leonardo Spinola

BMW Motorrad Centurion

Since his days in the Bavarian Motorcycles workshop, Lenny has been a big part of our lives. He has made a profound impact on our Club members' lives through his passion, care, professionalism and astounding knowledge of our BMW motorcycles, and continues to do so still.

David de Bruyn

BMW Clubs

David has been an integral part of the BMW clubs fraternity for as long as anyone can remember. In his tenure as President of BMW Clubs International and various other positions he has always served with the BMW family's best interests at heart, and in doing so, made a lasting contribution on the success of our Club.

Sias Wagenaar

Chairman

Pretty much everyone knows the gentle and wise person that has been investing so much of his time and effort to make the BMW Club Pretoria a flagship example of the home of Shared Riding Pleasure. Continuously finding ways to take the Club to newer heights and forging lasting relationships with all members and stakeholders alike, he has carved out a special place as one of our honorary members.

Roger Smith

Bavarian Motorcycles

As co-owner of the Club's supporting dealership, Roger is recognised for his exceptional support through partnership with the BMW Club Pretoria from its infancy to where it has grown to today. Roger is part of the foundations of the club and continue to play a pivotal role in the club going forward.

Sharon Smith

Bavarian Motorcycles

As a cornerstone of the Bavarian Motorcycles Dealership, nothing is too big or small for her personal touch when it comes to the Club. Sharon is adored and respected for the amazing contribution she continuously makes to the club.

Pieter de Koker

Pieter was co-opted on the Committee in August 2001 to organise GS rides. He held the GS portfolio on the Committee from 2004 until 2007. He was Chairman in 2007 and held the position until March 2009. In this period he represented the Club at BMW Clubs Africa meetings. Pieter organised and led many successful Club rides and longer trips.

Simon Pilfold

Bavarian Motorcycles

Who among us has not sought out Simon for his help with some thorny technical problem? Always there for club members, with expert advice and innovative solutions. Look past the cynical exterior for the wonderful sense of humour and deep irreverence. Few members know that Simon was also a co-owner of Bavarian.

Mike Hennessy

Chairman

As Club Treasurer and Chairman for quite a few years, Mike has been a kingpin since joining the club some years ago and has done much to place Pretoria on the veritable BMW Club map. The Club was privileged to be served by a man of his leadership qualities and organising abilities.

Bruce Meyers

Bavarian Motorcycles

Founder of Bavarian Motorcycles, it could be argued that Bruce was the founder of our club as well. He has supported the club in many ways since its inception, providing premises, food, encouragement and expert insights. Bruce passed away in December 2009 due to cancer.

Wendy Meyers

Bavarian Motorcycles

Co-owner of Bavarian Motorcycles, Wendy was best known for her sunny disposition and cheerful welcome to all who visit. Have a problem? Wendy will sort it out. The perfect foil to Bruce's serious demeanour, Wendy's warm nature was an integral part of what has made our club what it is today.

Allie Scheepers

Secretary

Allie served as club secretary for many years, doing an often thankless job with dedication and skill. Nowadays Allie is enjoying her retirement, as an ordinary club member, to be found at the centre of the party at all club socials.

Adriaan Scheepers

Chairman

Our second chairman, Adriaan has served on the club committee for as long as anyone can remember, and is still very active in the club. Adriaan is best known as our GS guru - he has forgotten more about off-road touring than most people will ever learn.

Hennie de Beer

Barman

Hennie served as barman for the club for many years, without pay. Today, Hennie can be found mostly at Zwartkops Raceway, where he act as Starter.

Henry Heyns

Editor

Henri has been editor of our club newsletter for time immemorial - he puts in an enormous amount of work for little thanks, and when not hunting for material, rides with the best of us. Henri passed away January 2015, age 83.
