8 December 2020

Dear Members and friends,

Thank you to everyone that supported last weekend’s Chairman’s Rides to Leopard Lodge. More than 50 people enjoyed some splendid tar and dirt routes to the lodge where we were treated to a first class buffet breakfast. Sue and Leon were extra lucky with some lucky draw prizes going their way.

But wait… that’s not all! We have a bonus ride for you to make up for lost lockdown riding. All the details below (and please RSVP – the venue needs numbers in advance!)

We also want to thank everyone that contributed so generously to the annual Christmas wellness drive so far. If you haven’t gotten around to that, please read on and see how you can make a meaningful difference during the season of giving.

Bonus Brauhaus Afrika Ride! – 13 December 2020 08h00 for 08h30

Please join Nico Naude & Deon van Wynaard on a tar-only winding adventure through Magalies towards Rustenburg. You will reach your destination at “Brauhaus Afrika” where you can order a portion of real German food. https://brauhaus.co.za/

PLEASE NOTE: We will depart from BP Centurion. You have to RSVP here because the venue has limited space available. Don’t worry, it’s quick and easy and you can even do this in two ticks on your mobile phone!

Annual Christmas Wellness Drive

In proud tradition we want to share this season of giving with those that are least fortunate. The Kefilwe Thusano Empowerment Trust consists of a hard-working team that aims to uplift the Elandspoort community to reach their full potential. But they need help… and lots of it. As an extremely impoverished community they are barely getting by, and with the additional impact of Covid-19 their prospects have even gotten worse. They don’t ask for gifts or toys or even clothes. They need food…

Instead of contributing directly with foodstuffs, we decided to ask for your financial assistance. As a non-profit organisation, Kefilwe Thusano qualifies for discounts at major retailers and as such can do more with a Rand than we can. A family hamper (consisting of dry foods, non-perishable items, fresh fruit and vegetables and some basic personal hygiene items) costs around R1,000 and can sustain a family of 5 for 3 weeks over the festive season. They still require assistance for 117 families! We can obviously not assist with all their needs, but every little bit helps. And this is where you come in…

The wellness drive was seeded by the club with R5,000 and we are astounded by your additional contributions to date. So far you have contributed a whopping R12,190!!! This means we can assist with the basic needs of 17 families so far.

If you have the means, please support this extremely worthy initiative? If it’s only with R10 or your early bird renewal savings! Every little bit adds up to something big in their lives. We are aiming to finalise this drive by 15 December, so let’s make this week count!

Kindly make your contribution via EFT to:

                BMW Motorcycle Club Pretoria

                FNB Cheque Hatfield 252 145

                Account 5585 0011 822

                Use “Elandspoort” as reference.

If you prefer to contribute in kind, please contact tom@bmwclubs.co.za for information on what foodstuffs they need and for collection arrangements.

Thank you in advance for your support of this worthy initiative. From one family to another…

Thank you for your continued support and participation. We are looking forward seeing you one last time at the Brauhaus before we drop the curtain on 2020! Keep it safe.
