I think it is time that this forum takes the step and introduce a vendor section. :pot:

Thank you Giel !...

Yes it was discussed in our last committee meeting and we will be looking into this early next year.. to allow Club members to post adds not in direct competition with BMW Bavarian products.

So, watch website for future development.

Sorry,

But I don't understand your statement "in direct competitionwith BMW Bavarian products".

I'm a loyal customer of Bavarian, refer all prospective buyers to go and see them for best deals. I take notice of the fact that Bavarian kindly host our club and sponsor a light meal with the monthly get-togethers, but that does not mean they have control over our club or what we do on this forum.

Would like to have feedback from some of the long standing members of this club as well, and possibly someone that has first-hand knowledge on our Club's Constitution.

There has been lots of debates, mud-slinging etc. in the past on who may post what.

I'm in favour of the Wilddogs forum, where a commercial section is available, broken down in vendors (those selling goods for a profit and having paid their dues to advertise on the forum), and then bike and non-bike related goods that forum members may want to sell or are looking for (For Sale / Wanted / Pay It Forward).

The AGM is around the corner, anyone wanting to change the constitution should make the suggestion at their earliest convenience to allow the committe to consider amendments and to send out proposed amendments along with the AGM notification to all members.

DS

This is exactly what I had in mind when I posted this post

I feel there is a place for such a section on our forum

The Cape Motorrad Club has such a section- but not split into a commercial and members section
Donford for instance is active on that section.

My view is that all must be accommodated in a controlled manor
If we can take some views from WD, why not, and then our forum becomes active again
Restrict it to BMW Bikes, part and clothing etc. only

I think there is a need for it, taking into consideration the number of post appearing for selling goods and then being deleted.
Charge a fee for vendors to advertise and control it

Point taken.

At this point in time the Club is not in need of funds.
Yes, true, a lot can be done with more money.

I feel the Club's forum is to discuss club matters, rides and events that may get our riders out there to enjoy their BMW's; to share views, ride reports and each other's highs and lows, not to forget the humour in life.
This is my personal view.

'Control it'. Easier said than done.

Isn't it free to advertise on Gumtree?
