Annual General Meeting
The AGM of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Pretoria, South Africa took place on 4 March at the clubhouse at Bavarian Centurion. Thank you to the 90+ members that were present.
At the meeting:
- All the amendments to the Constitution were approved (it can be viewed here).
- The financial report was approved.
- The report from the Committee was approved.
- Honorary members were announced (see below).
- The new Committee was elected.
The 2011/12 Committee
The committee was elected and the committee members and their portfolios are as follows:

Honorary Members
Two members were also recognised for their contribution to the Club and received honorary status:
Richard Hussey
Richard joined the Club in August 1994. He served continuously on the Club Committee from 1995 until 2010. He served two terms as Chairman: In 2003/4 and 2004/5 and one further year in 2009/10. In addition to his 14 years service to the Club, he has also continuously served on BMW Clubs Africa since 1999. Richard presented the Pretoria Club as ordinary member on the BMW Clubs Africa Committee, until he had the honour to serve as rotational BCA President in 2004 when he represented BCA at the BMW Clubs International Council Conference in Leipzig. Thereafter he served as BCA Treasurer for 6 years until 2010 when he stepped down as the Club’s Chairman. Richard is still a member of the Rides Committee and has been accepted by the Committee as an honorary member from March 2011.
Pieter de Koker
Pieter joined the Club in September 2001. He was co-opted on the Committee in August 2001 to organise GS rides. In March 2003 he became a full member of the Committee after an amendment of the Constitution allowing an extra member on the Committee. Pieter held the GS portfolio on the Committee from 2004 until 2007. He became Chairman of the Club in March 2007 and held the position until March 2009. In this period he represented the Club at BMW Clubs Africa meetings. Pieter organised and led many successful Club rides and longer trips. He is still an active member and has been accepted by the Committee as an honorary member from March 2011.
